Sydney Hopkins is a recent graduate of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, representing the Class of 2023!
During her time at Episcopal, Sydney participated in several areas of student life. She served as the Head Monitor for the 2022-23 school year, Black Student Association Co-President, an EHS Ambassador and Cheerleader.
Sydney continued to hone her flute skills while at Episcopal and participated in soccer, softball and track and field over her three years at The High School. A Maryland native, Sydney and her family have moved several times and now reside in Michigan. She attributes the support of her family to why she has had a successful high school career.
Outside of school, Sydney has earned her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award a Scout can earn for her project surrounding the intersectionality of early childhood literacy and diverse representation in the media. As an avid reader, she wanted to spread the joy of reading to everyone.
The Ohio State University is on the horizon for Sydney, where she will attend as an Eminence Fellow and Stamps Scholar. She plans to major in Public Policy, Leadership & Management as she aspires to have a career affecting change through legislation and is looking forward to maximizing her college experience.
