Our Initiatives

At BLAC, initiatives are not just projects; they are living frameworks that connect research, design, and community. Each initiative begins with listening and evolves into action, helping schools, organizations, and communities build systems of belonging that are visible, measurable, and sustainable.

Every initiative reflects BLAC’s belief that story can inform structure. Through narrative inquiry, data, and collaborative design, BLAC turns individual experience into institutional learning. These efforts are where reflection meets application, where empathy becomes practice, and where belonging is built with intention, not assumption.

00 Intro to Trilogy.png

Our Faces, Our Voices is a storytelling and research trilogy by BLAC that explores how belonging is built through design, not chance. Across more than forty recorded interviews, the series traces a journey from personal story to institutional structure, showing how identity, mentorship, and community inform the systems that shape learning and leadership.

Each part captures a stage of transformation. Where Belonging Begins listens deeply to the lived experiences of BIPOC students and professionals. Turning Voice into Vision translates those reflections into BLAC’s Narrative Intelligence Model, where story becomes data and insight becomes design. Designing Belonging completes the arc, introducing the Belonging Blueprints, frameworks that help institutions embed equity, care, and accountability into everyday practice. Together, the trilogy turns empathy into structure and legacy into leadership.
