Elizabeth Thompson

Hood College of Frederick, MD

2008

Elizabeth Thompson graduated from Hood College of Frederick, Maryland in 2008.


Elizabeth earned an International Baccalaureate diploma from Suitland High School in 2004. She is a 2008 alumna of Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, and went on to attend George Washington University where she earned a Master of Arts in English Literature, graduating with distinction in 2011. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Hood College’s Doctor of Organizational Leadership program, class of 2023. Her research area focuses on diversity in alumni relations and philanthropy in private independent schools.


She has worked in private education administration for 14 years, with experience in student affairs, academic support, alumni relations, and fundraising. As a queer Black woman and daughter of immigrants, she has a passion for using an intersectional lens to better serve communities in their mission to provide an equitable learning environment and alumni community.


Elizabeth is the current editor of Advocacy and Politics at Mixed Mag, an online multimedia magazine dedicated to promoting creatives of color, and amplifying multiethnic and multicultural voices through writing. She is also a member and former president of Hood College’s alumni executive board and a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
