2018

Darien is a native of Philadelphia, PA, who has always had a passion for bettering the lives of youth. Having attended Friends Select Schools his entire life, he learned the importance of lifelong learning at an early age. Darien graduated from Friends Select School in 2011. After receiving his B.A. in International Relations and French from Tufts University in 2015, he began his career as an educator in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District.

After his tenure in Charlotte, Darien returned to his roots in Philadelphia, where he taught middle school humanities. In 2018, he furthered his academic pursuits, earning an M.S.Ed. in Urban Education with a focus on law and policy from the University of Pennsylvania. This academic achievement propelled him into leadership roles, first as an Assistant Principal and Director of Operations in the Mastery Charter Schools network.

Currently, Darien holds the position of Associate Head of School at Greene Street Friends School, a Preschool-8th grade independent Quaker school in Philadelphia, PA. In addition, Darien is pursuing his doctorate in educational and organizational leadership at the University of Pennsylvania and is the Founder and Chief Strategist of Integrated Impact Solutions, a consultancy that helps schools and nonprofits reimagine systems, empower leaders, and advance equity.

When not playing tennis, biking, reading French literature, listening to music, or spending time with family and his Miniature Schnauzer, Ava, Darien actively mentors Philadelphia youth and sits on several boards promoting equitable educational opportunities.
