Daniela Ruano graduated from Episcopal High School in 2005 and from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009.
After graduating from PENN, she worked at a non-profit as a Program Manager providing academic support for students located in Ward 8, specifically Anacostia High School. The programs’ missions were to support students by increasing test scores, graduating, and attending college or other vocational tracks. Daniela completed her Master’s in Public Administration at Bowie State University in 2013.
After many years in this PM role, Daniela made a career switch into the IT security field and has supported the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She is currently a contractor for the Coast Guard, in Alexandria VA.
During her free time, she volunteered with Rural Dog Rescue, from where she adopted her two rescue pups. Daniela also served as a Girl Scout troop leader for many years.
Daniela lives in Maryland with Bernie Carey ’00, and their two dogs, Vixie and Luna.
