BLAC and July 20th
Last Thursday, July 20th, an air of anticipation and reverence filled the me as we celebrated the 2nd Annual Bridging Legacies Across Campuses Meet and Greet. Beyond being just a networking event, I will always look to host this event on July 20th. July 20th is the birthday of a remarkable woman whose legacy has profoundly impacted my life – my late mother, Sheila Lee.
With hearts full of gratitude and determination, we came together to honor her memory and explore essential topics of legacies, financial stability, and generational wealth.
The event was a testament to the power of community and the significance of forging connections among like-minded individuals. Witnessing students, professionals, and community members from diverse backgrounds joining hands in the spirit of fellowship was heartening. The passion and enthusiasm with which everyone engaged in discussions demonstrated the shared belief in the importance of bridging generational gaps and creating a brighter future for the coming generations.
As the attendees joined the Zoom session, I couldn't help but think about my mother's profound impact on my life and how her teachings continue to inspire me today. Sheila Lee was a trailblazer – a strong, independent woman who believed in the value of education and financial empowerment. She instilled in me the importance of planning for the future and leaving a lasting legacy for those we love. It was only fitting to celebrate her life on her birthday by organizing an event that mirrored her community, knowledge-sharing, and financial education principles. The meet and greet provided a platform for meaningful conversations about legacies and the importance of passing down knowledge, wealth, and values to future generations. We delved into strategies for achieving financial stability and building generational wealth – recognizing that these are vital components for creating a sustainable impact in the long run. The exchange of ideas, personal stories, and lessons learned created a dynamic environment that empowered and inspired everyone. As the event ended, the sense of camaraderie lingered in the air. The connections made, and the insights gained during the meet and greet will undoubtedly pave the way for future collaborations and initiatives. Bridging Legacies Across Campuses (BLAC) looks forward to hosting more events that unite individuals committed to shaping a legacy for future generations. Honoring my mother's memory and the values she instilled in me made the event even more meaningful. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the attendees, volunteers, and organizers who contributed to its success. We are building a strong community committed to creating lasting legacies and generational wealth.
Let's keep our hearts open to new connections and possibilities as we move forward. By working together, we can build a future where knowledge, prosperity, and compassion are shared across generations, leaving a positive impact for years to come.
In loving memory of Sheila Lee.
