Independent School Database
I’m Jonathan Lee, and my work sits at the intersection of lived experience, institutional systems, and community transformation. As a Black alum of an independent boarding school and the founder of Bridging Legacies Across Campuses (BLAC), I don’t just advocate for equity—I build structures that honor it. I’ve served in roles across the independent school landscape—admissions officer, dorm head, advisor, DEI leader—and I understand how these systems operate and where they fall short. To me, data isn’t abstract; every point represents a student’s story, a family’s journey, a legacy in motion. If we’re creating a database that truly reflects the realities of students of color in independent schools, I’m here to help ensure it centers the voices that too often go unheard.
The Independent School Database
This database is more than a collection of school profiles—it’s a vital starting point for families beginning their independent school journey with intention and clarity. Built with a deep understanding of what truly matters to students of color and their caregivers, it centers the questions families are actually asking: Where will my child be seen? Where will they be supported? For $225, this resource becomes yours—a tool grounded in lived experience, institutional knowledge, and a commitment to equity. It’s not just about access to information; it’s about access to possibility.
